Things to...

See

Waitsfield Farmer's Market

Saturday from 9 AM - 1 PM

You can find fresh produce, flowers, seedlings, honey, wool, eggs, meat, cheese and other farm products.

They have a large selection of crafts made in Vermont, baked goods, and prepared food. They also have live music from local artists!

Boutiques on Bridge Street

Cute local shopping in Waitsfield.

Ben & Jerry's Factory Tour

9 AM - 7 PM

Take a tour of the main factory and get a couple free samples. While you're at it, you might as well order the Vermonster Sundae containing 20 scoops of this delicious ice cream. After you're finished checking this out, you can continue your Vermont food tour to Cabot Creamery and the Cider Mill.

Cabot Creamery

9 AM - 6 PM

Free sample cheeses, need I say more. And just down the road from the Ben & Jerry's Factory.

Cold Hollow Cider Mill

8 AM - 6 PM

Delicious apple cider doughnuts and all sorts of apple treats.

Waterbury Flea Market

Saturday and Sunday from 9 AM - 4 PM

Vermont's largest outdoor flea market

Downtown Montpelier

Cruise around the state's capital with delightful boutiques and shops, adorable bookshops, antique stores, coffee shops and plenty of places to eat. The town is full of both small town charm as well as big city amenities.

Brew Tour

Vermont is the state that has the most craft breweries per capita in the US. Go check out all our delicious local brewers!

Shelburne Museum

A museum of art, design, and Americana. Over 150,000 works are exhibited in 38 exhibition buildings, 25 of which are historic and were relocated to the Museum grounds.

Church Street

Burlington's open-air mall is full of great shops and good food. The 2016 High Heel Race is taking place on Sunday.

Cruise on Lake Champlain

Take in the beauty of Vermont from Lake Champlain. The lake separates Vermont from New York. There are breakfast, lunch, or leisure cruises.

Vermont Teddy Bear Factory

9 AM - 6 PM

Come see where the Vermont Teddy Bears are made.

Eat

Warren Store

8 AM - 7 PM

A unique country store with a delicious bakery and deli. Go for breakfast or for lunch, and if you go for lunch the groom's favorite sandwich is the #6.

Hostel Tevere

6 PM and on

Grab a drink at the bar where they have eight draught lines with a preference for local craft beers.

Mad Taco

11 AM - 9 PM

Come enjoy a lunch or dinner of tacos. I recommend doing takeout because the dining area is quite small.

Tracks at the Pitcher Inn

Lovely fire lit tavern to enjoy a drink and the quiet atmosphere.

Peasant Restaurant

5:30 PM and on

Come dine at a locally owned and family run restaurant of Italian flare.

American Flatbread

5:00 PM - 9:30 PM

All natural pizza baked in primitive wood-fired oven earthen oven.

Localfolk Smokehouse

5 PM and on

Casual place to grab lunch, dinner, or drinks serving barbecue and Tex-Mex.

Penny Cluse Cafe

6:45 AM - 3 PM

My favorite place to eat in Burlington with delicious breakfast and lunch choices! Both options served all day.

Lake Champlain, Burlington, Vermont

Do

Warren Falls

A popular natural swimming spot with deep pools, multiple waterfalls, and high rocks for jumping.

Blueberry Lake

Popular swimming hole, getting its name from the many surrounding blueberry bushes.

Hike the Valley

I've done Mt. Abe to Lincoln Peak, Burnt Rock, and Sunset Ledge; and always wanted to do Camel's Hump.

Waitsfield Covered Bridge

Come jump off the bridge into a beautiful swimming whole. All the cool kids did it when we were in high school :-)

Sugarbush Ski Area

Open in the summer for golf, disc golf, zipline, mountain biking, hiking, and lift rides.

The Bridges Resort

Where the bride and groom are staying. Has it's own fitness Center, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, outdoor hot tub, and tennis facilities.

Float the Mad River

Sounds scary, but it's really mostly relaxing. You can rent tubes from Clearwater Sports and then float down the river. They'll have recommendations for where to start and where to finish or I can make recommendations. If you prefer, you can rent kayaks or canoes.

Waterbury Reservoir

Still water for participating in water sports or just enjoying the view and the day on the beach side.

Lake Champlain Bikeways

Walk or bike along Lake Champlain.

Waitsfield

Waitsfield

Waitsfield's location in the heart of the Mad River Valley surrounded by spectacular natural beauty is an obvious attribute.  Add to that the contributions of countless individuals and organizations who had the foresight and will to build a community of agriculture, commerce, conservation, recreation, civic engagement, and culture and you have an unparalleled place to live, to visit, to work, or to just be.
